In college, when one of my candles burned out, I made Austin try to scrape all the wax out of the jar using a spoon...needless to say, Austin ended up frustrated and the candle jar ended up in the trash :(
Today I found a quick and easy way to remove all the wax and those metal wick holders at the bottom!
Step 1: Boil water on the stove
Step 2 Pour boiling water into the candle jar
Step 3: Wait. It will take a while for all the wax to melt and start floating to the top of the water. I just let mine sit on the counter for the afternoon while I did other things around the house.
Step 4: Remove hardened wax. Once the wax has all come up to the top of the jar, remove the wax and pour the water down the drain. You can either toss the wax or break it up into pieces to later use in a warmer :)
Here is an image of what happens when you add the boiling water to the jar. It has an almost "lava lamp" type of effect.
The hardened wax after the water has been drained from the jar!

Love this tip! My candle is about to run out and now I'm going to have to do this and use it for any craft! Thanks :)
